Senior Picnic

| On May 19, 1965, Balboa's Spring Class of '65 held their Senior Picnic at Tamerlane Ranch in Pleasanton. What started off to be a cold, foggy day turned into one of the brightest days the "High N' Mighties" have ever seen. The anxious Seniors boarded the buses at noon and headed for their "long waited for" picnic. Once they arived. Picnic baskets, footballs and even bikinis were seen everywhere. Although it wasn't sunny, it was warm enough to go swimming and soon the large pool was full. After half the class got thrown in and finished eating, they headed for the dance area where the juke-box played loud and clear. There, one could see the Philly, Jerk and even the Freddy being danced. While all this was going on some of the teachers that came along took advantage of the "not so crowded pool" and even danced right along with the students. There wasn't one quiet moment —laughter, singing, and Balboa's yells were heard throughout the area. But it grew late and all too soon it was time to board the buses for home. Everyone had such a great time they could have stayed all night, but all things must end. On the way home everyone sang songs of all types and made the bus ride almost as much fun as the Picnic itself. They finally arrived back at Bal, and as the great class of Spring '65 separated for home, each took with him the wonderful memories of a most wonderful day: "Our Senior Picnic". |
