The faculty of Balboa is unique when one thinks of all the ways in which they make every educational moment happier. These dedicated disciples of higher learning mold the students of Balboa into model citizens. These people, in their various offices and departments, all are under the supervision of an outstanding administrator, Mr. Ralph Kauer. Miss Schmidt and Mr. Brown ably assist Mr. Kauer. The counseling department, headed by Mr. Richard Date, tries to help every student at Balboa. Each student is aided to make the right choices of classes and counseled in his future goals. The language department is under the supervision of Mrs. Pia Hunton. This section offers Spanish, Italian, German, Latin, and French. The science department is headed by Mr. Gene Huber. Offering Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, etc., this section of our school builds bigger and better minds for our future scientists. The business department, with Mr. Harold Parker as supervisor, provides many practical classes that are constantly in demand of the student body. The music department is always in tune with the latest in awards and songs. This group has provided much valuable recognition to our school and city. The head of the English department is Mrs. Florence Cohen, who along with her fellow teachers, make this subject one of great value to each and everyone of us. The history department, under Mr. Bart Concannon, has come up with programs that successfully connects the past with the present and onward into the future.
