University of Washington Stereocard Collection. A nice digital exhibition of about 170 items, based on their collection of mostly western views. There's a good overview of stereoviews and background of the collection is on the More Info page. (The compact description in the "More Info" is admirable and worthy of emulation.)
Small Town America: Stereoscopic Views from the Robert Dennis Collection. (New York Public Library). A magnificent collection, donated by Robert N. Dennis in 1982 (some 12,000 stereoviews), focusing on small-town life in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Includes many important New York City views. Online collection rather than online exhibition. The site has a cumbersome interface with little textual description and description limited to the (archival) series-level, but it remains a truly magnificent collection, showing the architectural and urban development of New York City from ca. 1850-1910 (mainly 1865-1900). Graphics can be slow on a dial-up connection.
Cliff house Project. The San Francisco Cliff House only lasted a few decades, but as this interesting hobbyist site shows, it was well-documented by stereoscopic photographers.
Stereography, a useful introduction to contemporary stereography maintained by Pamela Minch. There are some nice pictures of viewers (not as good as Wing, below).
